Cannibals capture three men. The men are told that they will be eaten and their skin will be used to make canoes. Then they are each given a final request. The first man asks to be killed as painlessly as possible. So they poison him. The second man asks for paper and a pen to write a farewell letter to his family. After he writes his letter, they kill him saving his skin for their canoes. The third man asks for a fork. The cannibals are confused, but they give him a fork. As soon as he has the fork he begins stabbing himself all over and shouts, "To hell with your canoes!"
식인종들이 세 남자를 생포해서 그들을 잡아먹은 후 피부를 벗겨 카누를 만들겠다고 말했다. 그리고는 각자에게 마지막 소원을 들어주겠다고 했다. 첫 번째 남자가 고통 없이 죽고 싶다고 청하자 식인종들은 그를 독살했다. 두 번째 남자는 가족들에게 작별편지를 쓰게 종이와 펜을 달라고 했다. 남자가 편지를 쓰자 식인종들은 그를 죽이고 카누를 만들기 위해 피부를 벗겼다. 세 번째 남자는 포크를 달라고 했다. 식인종들은 이해가 되지 않았지만 포크를 가져다줬다. 남자는 포크를 받자마자 자신의 온몸을 찌르며 소리쳤다. "카누는 될 대로 되라지!"
