An artist asked the gallery owner if there had been any interest in his paintings on display at that time.
"I have good news and bad news," the owner replied.
"The good news is that a gentleman enquired about your work and wondered if it would appreciate in value after your death. When I told him it would, he bought all 15 of your paintings."
"That's wonderful," the artist exclaimed. "What's the bad news?"
"The guy was your doctor."
어떤 예술가가 자기 작품을 전시 중인 화랑의 대표에게 자신의 그림에 관심을 보인 사람이 있었는지 물어봤다.
"좋은 소식과 나쁜 소식이 있습니다."대표가 답했다.
"좋은 소식은 한 신사가 당신의 작품에 대해 문의하면서, 당신이 죽은 후에 작품의 가치가 올라갈 수 있는지 궁금해했다는 것입니다. 그럴 수 있다고 하자, 그 분이 당신의 전시작품 15점을 전부 사셨어요."
"대단해요." 예술가가 환호성을 질렀다. "그런데 나쁜 소식은 뭔가요?"
"그 분이 당신 주치의였어요."
