A man walks into a restaurant and is shown to his seat by the hostess. The waiter approaches and asks, "Would you like to try our house special?" The man replies, "No, just bring me a steak, and make it lean". The waiter, somewhat puzzled, looks at him and replies, "which way?" 한 남자가 식당에 들어가서 자리를 안내받았다. 웨이터가 다가와 "오늘의 특별요리 어떠십니까?"하고 묻자 남자는 "아뇨, 그냥 스테이크로 주세요. 기름기 없이(lean)요." 웨이터는 당황하더니 남자를 바라보고 물었다. "어느 방향으로 말입니까?"(lean은 '기울다ㆍ치우치다'라는 뜻도 있음)
